Privacy policy — Elastic Signal

Elastic Signal is a Chrome extension that evaluates the page you are visiting against your own tool-evaluation protocol. Elastic receives no data: the extension has no server of its own and no analytics. When you evaluate a page or use the assistant, the data travels directly from your browser to the AI provider you choose, using your own key. What follows explains what data the extension handles, where it is stored and who it is sent to.

1. What data the extension handles

Content of the page you evaluate

Only from the tab where you click the extension icon, and only at that moment: address (URL), title, description, headings, visible text (up to 12,000 characters), relevant links on the page (pricing, documentation, terms) and price mentions.

Your evaluation protocol

The criteria, weights, constraints, antipatterns, context and current state that you define in the settings or with the assistant.

Your answers to the assistant

If you create your protocol with the assistant: the answers you give it, the conversation in progress and the draft of the protocol being built.

Your API keys

The keys for the AI providers you configure (Groq, Google Gemini or OpenAI).

Preferences

The provider and model chosen for each phase, the language, and the date you accepted the data-use notice.

The extension does not access your browsing history, pages you do not evaluate, cookies, passwords or form data.

2. Where it is stored

Your protocol, API keys, preferences and, if you have an unfinished interview with the assistant, the conversation and the draft are stored only in the extension's local storage, in your browser. They are not synced to other devices and are not sent to Elastic. The content of evaluated pages is not stored: it is used for the evaluation in progress and discarded when you close the panel.

3. Who it is sent to

When you evaluate a page, the extension sends that page's content and your evaluation protocol directly from your browser to the AI provider you have chosen, authenticating with your key. If you ask for the detailed explanation, a second request is sent with the same content and the result of the fast evaluation. Each API key is only sent to the provider it belongs to.

If you create your protocol with the assistant, the extension sends your answers and the protocol being built to the AI provider you chose for phase 2 (for example, OpenAI or Google Gemini), directly from your browser and with your own key. Elastic does not receive or store those answers. The assistant does not ask for names, companies or contact details; your role and team size are enough. The conversation and the draft are stored only in your browser until you save the protocol or start over.

The provider handles that data under its own policy and the terms of your account with it. Review them before using the extension: on some free plans, the provider may use the content it receives to improve its services.

Elastic does not receive, store or have access to any of this data.

4. Purpose and legal basis

The data is used only to produce the evaluation you ask for or to create your protocol with the assistant. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, is not shared to build profiles and is not used to assess creditworthiness or for lending.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR). Before the first transfer, when you evaluate a page or use the assistant, the extension shows you a notice about it and sends nothing until you accept it.

5. Retention and deletion

  • In your browser: data stays until you delete it. You can clear each key from the extension's settings, and uninstalling the extension makes Chrome remove everything it stored. The assistant's conversation and draft are deleted when you save the protocol or start over.
  • At the AI provider: according to its own retention policy.
  • At Elastic: nothing, because we receive no data.

6. Security

  • All communication with the providers uses HTTPS.
  • The extension can only read the tab where you activate it, and only after you click its icon.
  • All code ships inside the extension package; no remote code is downloaded or executed.

7. Your rights

Because Elastic keeps no data about you through the extension, you control it directly from your browser. For data an AI provider has received, exercise your rights with that provider. For any question about this policy, write to privacidad [at] 3lastic.com (replace [at] with @).

If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) at www.aepd.esopens in new window.

8. Changes to this policy

If what the extension does with your data changes, we will update this page and its date. If the change affects what is sent or to whom, the extension will ask you to accept the notice again before evaluating or using the assistant.
